- Low mood or emotional difficulties
- Relationship and communication challenges
- Major life changes and transitions
- Family and parenting concerns
- A desire for greater self-understanding
Clarity begins with understanding.
A psychological evaluation is a structured process that helps us better understand how a person thinks, learns, feels and behaves. The process can provide valuable insight into specific concerns and help identify appropriate next steps.
What can an evaluation help us understand?
Attention & ADHD
Exploring attention, concentration, impulsivity and executive functioning.
Learning & Educational Needs
Understanding areas such as reading, writing, comprehension, processing and academic functioning.
Cognitive Functioning
Identifying cognitive strengths and areas where additional support may be helpful.
Emotional & Behavioural Concerns
Exploring patterns of mood, behaviour, anxiety and emotional functioning.
Personality Assessment
Developing a deeper understanding of personality patterns and how they may affect everyday life and relationships.
Diagnostic Clarification
Supporting greater clarity around psychological concerns and appropriate treatment or support options.
Child & Adolescent Assessment
Supporting a better understanding of developmental, emotional, behavioural and learning concerns.
Treatment Planning
Using assessment findings to guide recommendations and the next steps for appropriate support.
Screening or comprehensive evaluation?
Your psychologist will guide you through this choice so you get the approach that suits your situation.
A focused check.
A screening looks at specific diagnoses and tells you whether they are present or absent. It works well in particular cases, for example confirming a childhood ADHD diagnosis for an adult. It cannot rule out other causes of the symptoms.
The complete picture.
A comprehensive evaluation looks across every possible source of difficulty, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, addiction, trauma, personality and the home or school environment. It rules out other causes and identifies conditions that occur together, so treatment recommendations are accurate and effective.
- Usually 20 to 25 hours of the psychologist’s time
- Includes a feedback session to go through the results
A clear process. A deeper understanding.
Initial Assessment
We understand your situation, discuss your needs and agree the questions the testing should answer, such as “Does my child have ADHD?” or “Why is my child struggling at school?”
Information Gathering
Standardised tests and questionnaires, neuropsychological testing, developmental history, views from people who know you well, and past records such as report cards or workplace evaluations.
Scoring & Report
Your psychologist scores and interprets the results, then writes a detailed report with the results of each test and conclusions about any diagnosis.
Feedback Session
We go through the report together, explain how we reached our conclusions, answer your questions and discuss individual treatment recommendations.
Internationally recognised assessments.
The tests we use are valid and reliable, and can be used with people aged 2.5 to 89 years.

“From the culturally sensitive administration of the tests to the comprehensive results, Mumtaz MWS outshone even the overseas assessment I had received.”
Having conducted three assessments for my son, both in Nigeria and internationally, I found myself in need of a current IQ test and additional cognitive assessments. Mumtaz Mind and Wellness Studio came highly recommended for its international standards. Skeptical initially, I decided to give it a try, and to my amazement, the experience surpassed my expectations. A heartfelt thank you to Mumtaz for an exceptional job. I wholeheartedly recommend their services to anyone in need.
Mrs Abubakar · Psychological AssessmentInformation is only useful when you understand what it means.
Our approach is designed to make the process clear and supportive. We take the time to explain findings in a way that makes sense and discuss what they may mean for you or your child.
The goal is not simply to provide a result. It is to provide useful insight that can help inform the next step.
